Carrier Service API (CCS)

Shopify's mechanism for querying external logic to calculate shipping rates and returning candidate rates to checkout in real time.

The official API for dynamic shipping calculation based on conditions a fixed rate table cannot express — customer tags, order value, region, shipping groups, and more.

For a Plus merchant, we used the Carrier Service API (CCS) to implement member-only free-shipping thresholds.
